This is the most jam-packed period of activity, excitement, and anticipation for the year. From Thanksgiving dinner, to decorating the house, then my birthday, and of course waiting for Christmas and New Years... there is a lot to look forward to and reflect on.

What if… Every season provided the promise and enthusiasm of a kid in Summer? What if… Your time was free and your plans were flexible? What if… You always made plans and family memories intentionally, just like in the Summer. That’s my goal. I want “Summer” to last forever.

I have a great family! I know that not everyone can say that… but I really can. Both my family and my wife’s family…and then the family we created together - is great! We are so blessed to have each other, especially during this current time when most socializing seems to be just with your family!

Do you Love or Hate This "Season" of Life...?

Around the country, we’ve had some pretty extreme heat waves! In fact, it’s hit 100 degrees a couple of times in the Pacific Northwest, where I live… and that’s super rare!

Parenting CanNOT be Outsourced. If you’re a parent, then you’ve been stuck at home with your kids for almost 2 months… and you’re probably ready to get out! Or get them out! :-) I totally get it. I feel the same way. Long ago were the days of some “peace and quiet” or at least a few moments at work or at home when they weren’t screaming, fighting, asking for something or fighting over which Disney+ show to watch!

I found that while everything has “changed”, the best way for me to navigate the change was to NOT change. I needed to keep, maintain and lean into the habits that lead to success in life. Here is a shortlist of how I’ve chosen to respond… and 6 weeks in… I’m so glad I did!

Are You "Above Average" or Just Determined? That might sound like a weird question. Don’t we want to be both? Or what is it better to be like? But is it better to be “above average”… or just “determined”?

Who doesn’t want instant success? I would love that!  However, there is a huge problem… 99% of the time success does not come overnight!  I’d say it doesn’t even come over a period of a year!  Success takes intentional strategy, never-ending perseverance and time.
